Pomme (Isabelle Huppert) moves gracefully and quietly through life, happy yet undemanding in her preparations to become a beautician. Of course, François, a rich playboy attracted by her beauty, sweeps her off her feet. But this non-Cinderella story comes with twists which we only understand through Pomme's eyes and the complexities of her simple character.
